Konami is confirming the launch of remake Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is planned for 2025 as the development team’s highest priority. Producer Noriaki Okamura said the main goal is to deliver a polished, high quality game that meets fan expectations.
While a release by the end of 2024 was originally suggested, the title will be made available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC sometime next year, with the promise of a complete and polished experience.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater reveals characters
At the Tokyo Game Show 2024, Konami has unveiled a new trailer for the long-awaited remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. While the release date remains unknown, the trailer managed to delight fans with major character reveals and intense gameplay sequences.
The trailer leads us into the Virtuous Mission, in which protagonist Naked Snake is sent to rescue Nikolai Sokolov, the creator of the mighty Shagohad. The cutscenes show us tense moments as Snake confronts his mentor, The Boss, who betrays and endangers his life. The atmosphere of betrayal is heightened by the appearance of antagonist Colonel Volgin, followed by a scene with Ocelot, known for his impressive pistol skills.
In addition, the trailer provides a first glimpse of the character EVA, the mysterious agent who plays a key role in the unfolding action. The trailer’s ending shows Snake in a critical situation, apparently left for dead, though the story suggests he will survive for later confrontations.
