The year 2025 is shaping up to be a spectacular one for gamers, with major releases on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Here are the most popular and anticipated games slated for release in 2025:

4. DOOM: The Dark Ages (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story worthy of the DOOM Slayer’s legend. In this third installment of the modern DOOM series, players will step into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.
5. Monster Hunter Wilds (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
The amount of fizzle in Wilds, even on a 4090 is ridiculous. The game is extremely unstable, especially in ambient occlusion (and contact shadows) areas. But there’s also other weird crap like when the post processing filter changes during the entering/exiting of areas, houses, and caves the game often exhibits previous frame ghosting for many frames for some reason. As if some still shadow of the old image color was stuck for a few frames. It becomes really jarring, especially with as much as the game changes the post processing filters.
6. Assassin’s Creed Shadows (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
Japan 1579 – The country is on a brutal path toward unification driven by the iron will of daimyo Oda Nobunaga. Unrest grows as new coalitions appear and corrupt foreigners infiltrate the land. After the brutal invasion of the peaceful province of Iga, a young ninja assassin embarks on a journey to fulfill an impossible promise, eventually joining paths with a legendary samurai on a mission to confront his demons. Together, they will fight for justice as they usher in a new era for Japan.
From chaos to purpose, from darkness to light. Justice is forged in the shadows.
7. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
The biggest hit in Konami’s history, 2004’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater returns in remastered form as Metal Gear Solid Delta. Utilizing state-of-the-art graphics technology, the developers have completely recreated the classic game while retaining the original story, missions and atmosphere.
8. Mafia: The Old Country (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
Mafia: The Old Country now has a possible release date: August 8, according to a recent post on Steam. Though details were quickly removed, a screenshot by Gematsu confirms the information. Hangar 13 will support a developer panel on May 8 at PAX West, where a new gameplay trailer and exclusive behind-the-scenes behind-the-scenes footage will be shown.
9. Avowed (Xbox Series X|S, PC)
Avowed is an action RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. Avowed launches today for Xbox Series X/S and PC for those who purchase the premium edition, and on February 18 for those who purchase the standard version.
10. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the long-awaited sequel to Warhorse Studios’ medieval open-world RPG, is now available. Playable on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, the story follows Henry of Stalitz as he continues his quest to seek revenge for his parents.
